What should I do before I start painting?
Read the directions on the side of the drum. Further directions can be found in the Technical Data and Safety Data Sheets. Ensure the surface is free from loose material. Wipe down to ensure the surface is clean, dry and dust free. If necessary patch and fill any holes and cracks with a sandable filler. Do not sand the paper face of plasterboard.
What type of roller can I use?
To use a roller you'll need a tray, frame, roller cover and possibly an extension pole. Generally speaking, 6-8mm nap covers are used for gloss and satin paints and a 10-12mm nap covers for low sheen and flat paints on walls?
Can I use a brush to apply your paints?
Our Ecostyle range can be applied with a brush, roller or spray.
Can I thin the paint down?
Our paints can be thinned by up to 5% volume with water. Only thin down the amount required for your project and use within three days.
How far does a drum of paint go?
The coverage rates may vary according to the substrate and preparation, but the paints are usually applied at a rate of approximately 14m2 per litre.
How should I store my paint?
Keep the drum sealed and store in a cool dark place.
What is your colour range?

What harsh chemicals are in your paint?
ROCKCOTE EcoStyle Paints are non-toxic, water based paints which do not contain ammonia or other harsh chemicals. They do not produce harmful fumes or off gassing.
What is the level of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) in your paint?
The VOC level of ROCKCOTE’s EcoStyle range is less than 5g per litre and classified as a very low VOC paint.
How long should I wait between coats of paint?
Under normal conditions, ROCKCOTE EcoStyle is touch dry in 1 hour and dry to recoat in 2 hours.
What is a Sealer/Undercoat, and when should I use it?
ROCKCOTE Sealer/Undercoat is a primer, or undercoat, which ensures excellent adhesion of ROCKCOTE EcoStyle Paints to surfaces, to increase durability and provide additional protection to the material being painted. Our Sealer/Undercoat can assist with colour consistency and is also tintable to most popular colours.
How do I clean my brushes and rollers after painting?
ROCKCOTE EcoStyle Paints are water based so your brushes and rollers can be washed out in water.
